Fed: Quit ANZ if it puts up rates Costello

Treasurer PETER COSTELLO says consumers should change banks if the ANZ Bank puts up
interest rates.

Mr COSTELLO says if the ANZ puts up interest rates, then consumers should be prepared
to look for better deals and cheaper rates at other banks.

Overnight, the ANZ Banking Group raised the spectre of a half a percentage point hike
in mortgage rates early in the new year.
